Dear all, and dear Steve,
first of all I would like to thank you so much for your help, since the workshop was really interesting and I really think I've learned a lot from it.
Then, I would like to ask again for your help, in order to learn even something more: could you please write down your personal thoughts about the "crowd wisdom"? I've not clear ideas about what it is, how it works, and above all how could it help me to guess the coloured shapes count..!
Thank you again!

Hi Anna - good question. Wisdom of the crowds is the name given to a phenomenon noticed when people gather together and make decisions. Usually, they make the right decisions, but occasionally they get it wrong (see for example psychological research into the 'risky shift' decision making of groups when under pressure). Generally however, wikis and other social software tools work on this principle that the crowd, through it's filtering processes and collective wisdom, will make the right decision. That is why wiki pages are constantly being changed to eliminate errors. I hope this helps...?
Thanks, it helps a lot! To be honest, I've never studied the risky shift decision making process... I'm a PhD student in computer science engineering and I'm just starting to (try to) study in depth the psychological facets related to e-learning and blended-learning. Thanks a lot, your workshop and your comment gave me many interesting pointers!
